“The time has come,” the Walrus said,”To talk of many things….” Well, actually, the time has come to write of many things.
This morning, as I once again (unsuccesfully) attempted to drag Simon’s attention away from his avid book-reading, to engage him in an Interesting Conversation beginning with those oft-uttered words, “Sometimes I think…”, I realised that I needed to find another medium for my musings. I think I also realised that ‘conversation’ wasn’t exactly what I was seeking anyway – I never really expect Simon to do anything other than listen politely, nod occasionally and say “How true!” every now and then.
What I’m looking for is the opportunity to hear out-loud some of the confused-and-yet-Tremendously-Significant ramblings of my mind, as part of a process of attempting to make a bit of sense of them, and of trying to pull them together into a coherent whole that will henceforth come to be known as my ‘Philosophy of Life”. So, in a way, the only necessary audience for this writing is myself.
However, if any of You-Out-There can be arsed to stick around and keep reading, and maybe even find some pleasure and interest in the process, I will be happy to know that I have shared a Good Thing. And if any of you feel moved to comment, constructively criticise, or post the occasional metaphorical nod of agreement, I will be pleased to know that I am not, after all, alone in my head.
Meanwhile, for those of you short of time, attention or interest in such ramblings, and those of you who just like looking at the pictures, The Blog will continue to provide bite-sized posts about What is Going On in Our Lives from week to week. Of course, nothing is black and white, and on occasion it may be that some of my rambling will leach across the frontier into the Blog, but I will endeavour to exercise a little mental discipline and Keep Things in Their Proper Place.
Maybe this was in my mind all along, and maybe this is why I wanted the name of our new website to be llamadharma.com. Clearly it’s not just about llamas. It is also about Life, The Universe and Everything. How could it not be?
